    NEH Summer Stipend Competition

The National Endowment for the Humanities is holding its competition for Summer Stipends. This year, the program will provide $6,000 to each successful applicant in support of scholarly work in the humanities to be carried out during the summer of 2017.

In recent years, the application process for NEH Summer Stipends has changed slightly, so please review their guidelines and application instructions.

Baruch will hold an internal competition to select two official applicants. These two applicants will be the only full-time faculty members permitted to apply to the NEH, and they themselves will be responsible for sending in their application materials through the grants.gov website.

Baruch’s internal competition deadline is Monday, Sept. 12, 2016.

The committee charged with selecting the winners of the internal competition will meet the following day, and the two official applicants will be notified immediately so that they will have plenty of time to make any revisions to their materials that the committee might recommend before the NEH deadline of September 29.

Faculty members who would like to submit materials for the internal competition should email their project narratives to Associate Dean Gary Hentzi by 5 p.m. on September 12.

In the internal competition, no preference will be given either to junior or to senior faculty. All eligible faculty members who have appropriate projects are strongly encouraged to apply.
