The Department of Fine and Performing Arts aims to give to students the rich perspective and personal fulfillment that derives from studying and imagining the deep essence of civilization and examining their own potential and responsibilities as individuals in a global community. We accomplish this through a variety of course offerings, special programs, and affiliations with some of the world’s great museums, concert halls, and theatres, as well as a full, diverse calendar of campus arts events.

By graduation, artistic expression and appreciation are only part of our students’ vastly broadened perspective and experience. Whether they move on to advanced degrees, which we encourage and facilitate, or ascend the corporate ladder, they carry along a solid foundation in the knowledge and abilities that are central to success.
