Weissman School Advisement
Major and Minor Advisement
Faculty advisors are available in all Weissman academic departments and interdisciplinary programs to guide students through their majors and minors and into post-graduate opportunities. Students are encouraged to meet with faculty advisors in their major and minor departments to address questions about program requirements and special opportunities, such as internships, alumni programs, and study abroad. Because faculty advisors know their discipline and departmental offerings the best, they are well equipped to help students with major or minor elective course selection, taking into account students’ individual goals and interests.
They can also assist students who have questions or concerns about their placement in course sequences (e.g., mathematics, English, foreign languages, etc.). A full list of Weissman faculty advisors is available on the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences site every semester. Names and contact information are also available on the program description pages for all Weissman undergraduate majors and minors.

Weissman Core
Students who wish to continue a language to which they have prior exposure must consult faculty advisors in the Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature for proper placement. Please see the Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Literature site for contact information.

General Degree Advisement
General Education Degree Requirements
Undergraduate students follow a uniform set of general education requirements known as CUNY Pathways, as outlined on the Pathways at Baruch site. The DegreeWorks audit system is an excellent resource to review requirements and course options for Pathways, your major, minor, etc., and to track your progress toward graduation.
Planning Your Academic Career
Advisors in the Undergraduate Advisement Center are available to students throughout their academic careers – from orientation to graduation. Advisors can meet with students in group sessions or for 30-minute one-on-one long-term planning advisement appointments. Discussed during these appointments are school admission requirements, GPA criteria, college policies, graduation requirements, academic progress and the impact of life challenges on students’ academics. Advisors also meet with students for short term advisement during registration to discuss course options for the upcoming semester.
Baruch One Stop Shop (BOSS)
The BOSS Office offers a broad range of student services and referrals. Everything from registration to financial aid to academic questions, student-facing staff of the BOSS come from across the College and are trained in the full range of student services in order to streamline and provide comprehensive assistance to students.
BOSS is open in person Monday through Friday from 9am – 5pm and has Virtual hours via ZOOM. Please see the BOSS site for details.
