    Frequently Asked Questions

Students applying to the fully online bachelor of arts in psychology must have an associate’s degree or have completed more than 60 hours of college credit from an accredited college or university at the time of enrollment.
Preferential admissions will be given to students who have completed their Associates degree and have taken the prerequisites for the Psychology Major before beginning the program. This means that they have taken courses that transfer in as PSY 1001 (General Psychology) and PSY 2100 (Statistics for Behavioral Sciences), BIO/ENV 2100, or STA 2000, and achieved a C or better.

As space permits, students who have not yet taken these courses may be eligible for conditional acceptance into the program if they take these courses prior to the start of the semester in which they enroll and succeed with a C or better (we typically offer these courses in the summer). They cannot enter the program until they complete these courses with a C or better.

Note: Students who wish to enroll in the statistics course (PSY 2100/STA 2000/BIO-ENV 2100), must have the math prerequisite for that course (Placement into precalculus or higher or completion of one of the following courses: MTH 1023, MTH 1030, MTH 2000, MTH 2001, MTH 2003, MTH 2009, MTH 2205, MTH 2206, MTH 2207, MTH 2610 or any MTH course at the 3000- level or above). We cannot guarantee that these prerequisites are available asynchronously and may affect time towards degree completion. If you know you’re missing some of these courses, please reach out to olena.wills@baruch.cuny.edu.

In this Baruch online program, you will learn asynchronously, meaning you complete assignments and discussions when it works for you, while still adhering to deadlines and due dates. You will also continue to engage with faculty, who are available to support you every step of the way as you complete your degree.
