Dual Majors

Students in the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences who wish to complete double majors within the arts and sciences disciplines must file two separate major/specialization form. Each form must have a list of approved courses and be signed by the appropriate department advisor. The Office of the Associate Dean then approves the two major forms. A minimum of 60 percent of credits in each major field must be completed at Baruch College. (Please note that the two disciplines chosen must be within the Weissman School of Arts and Sciences.)

The double majors will appear on a student’s transcript only if the courses listed on both forms are completed by the time of graduation. Students who desire to combine two disciplines in a single major should consider the Arts and Sciences Ad Hoc Major option.

Students who desire to combine a discipline at Baruch College with another at a different senior college should consider the CUNY BA option. Students fulfilling the requirements of two separate majors are not required to complete a Tier III minor (for students following the Baruch Common Core general education requirements).

Students who entered Baruch in spring 2015 or later, and who complete two majors, are waived from Pathways College Option requirements other than Great Works of Literature (ENG/CMP 2800 or ENG/CMP 2850).
