Join the Robert C. Weaver Society, in collaboration with the Black Male Initiative of Baruch College, for a panel composed of Black father/son dyads who will be exploring the lived experiences of Black males. In particular, Black men will share their inter-generational knowledge of raising and/or growing up as Black men in America and surviving racial adversity (racism, microaggressions, stereotyping, bias, etc.) while building resilience. Carnival (known as Carnaval in Brazil and in Spanish-speaking Latin American countries) is one of the most colorful, joyous, and fascinating traditions of Latin America and the Caribbean. It is also one of the most important contributions of the Afro-Latinx and Afro-Caribbean communities to the region. Join the conversation with Baruch professors Tshombe Miles, Rojo Robles (Department of Black and Latinx Studies) and Gisele Regatao (Department of Journalism and the Writing Professions) to hear more about the origins, traditions, and impact of the great Afro-Latinx Carnival/Carnaval tradition in the Americas. Friday, February 26: Starr Career Development Center Diversity Career Expo | 11:00 AM- 3:00 PM
Starr will be hosting their 5th Annual Diversity Career Expo. The program will begin with a keynote address delivered by one of our corporate partners and DEI industry expert. Students will have an opportunity to join breakout room discussions led by recruiters on various DEI topics focused on recruiting, pipeline programs, mentorship, employee resources groups, and more. The program will conclude with a 2-hour mini career fair.
