SEPTEMBER

New York Women in Communications Student Career Bootcamp
Each year, New York Women in Communications hosts a Student Career Bootcamp that draws ‎more than 200 students and young professionals together. This event features a variety of ‎panel topics related to women who are navigating the communications industry during a ‎transformative time. ‎ The 2021 Student Career Bootcamp will take place virtually on Thursday, September 9, from 4-‎‎6:15 p.m. and will feature industry leaders in panel discussions on emerging trends in media, ‎interview best practices, personal branding and much more.‎  From the events of 2020, this event will offer a virtual experience with valuable tips for ‎students in how to navigate the next normal and post-pandemic life. The purpose is to help ‎women in the media and communications industry as they start their careers, giving them a ‎preview into different types of careers and other tangible career advice.‎

The WSAS Career Services Office is offering to waive the Bootcamp fee to the first ten people who respond and commit to attending. If you are interested in applying for the waiver, contact weissmancareers@baruch.cuny.edu.

The Class of 2023 Academic Year-Long Mentoring Program is open to all first and second year graduate students. 
EOC’s Academic Year-Long Mentoring Program is a professional partnership** between Baruch students and their EOC Mentors. The Program is a commitment: the Mentor and Mentee must meet virtually at least once a month and maintain regular contact via email or telephone. EOC Mentors are experienced executives (some are Baruch alumni) who volunteer their time to advise and help Mentees define and achieve their career goals by supporting, counseling, and serving as role models for Mentees. Mentees in the EOC’s mentoring programs are current Baruch students who have a serious desire to develop themselves professionally and personally; who are aware that in today’s job market, interpersonal skills are essential because very often they make or break a career regardless of one’s technical skills and academic education.
**It is not the goal of the Program, nor is it expected of Mentors to provide their Mentees with an internship or a job, and Mentees in the Program may not ask their Mentors for an internship or a job.
